Everyone likes colour and colour is making a comeback.  In the 1960's the hippie revolution really took hold and it shook fashion, and a few other things, to the core.  And, as if in fitting tribute, some of the wonderful fashions and styles of the 60's are making a comeback as we appear to have moved full circle with a resurgence of both some of the hippy values as well as the clothing.

And with the massive revival and interest in pop concerts and with the huge crowds currently being drawn to music festival attendance it really does feel like some of the good parts of the 60's are returning.  So a hippie costume themed party would seem a safe bet during the summer and makes a great and colourful alternative to a luau or beach party fancy dress costume theme.
